Sangla : Sangla is a town in the Baspa Valley also referred to as the Sangla valley, in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, India, close to the Tibetan border. Kaza : The town of Kaza, Kaze or Kaja is the subdivisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the western Himalayas in the Lahaul and Spiti district of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Kalpa : Kalpa is a small town in the Sutlej river valley above Recong Peo in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Northern India in the Indian Himalaya. Inhabited by Kinnauri people and famous for its apple orchards. Apples are a major cash-crop for the region. Narkanda : Narkanda is a town and a nagar panchayat in Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 2708m on the Hindustan-Tibet Road in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is about 65km away from Shimla and surrounded by the Shivalik Range that span a large part of Himachal Pradesh.

Itinerary
Day-1 Arrival at Delhi and drive to Sangla

On your arrival at Delhi railway station / airport you will be met by our driver and he will drive drive towards Sangla via Charabra, Kufri, Fagu, Narkanda, Rampur we will visit the famous temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan. This is the same temple in which human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After visiting the temple we will continue driving to Sangla (4-5hrs) where you will check in at your hotel or could also choose to stay in fixed luxury tented accommodation. After lunch you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages (1-2hrs) and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. You will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part of Kinnaur valley.

Night-1

Overnight in luxury tented accommodation / hotel in Sangla.

Day-2 Sangla - Chitkul - Kalpa 2758m/9048ft (40km/2-3hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel driving you to Chitkul which is the last village on Indian side on the Indo Tibetan border. The village of Chitkul is like something from a fairy tale and you will have a chance to walk slowly around it. The landscapes are stunning and you will have plenty of time to enjoy them and talk to the local people. We will return to Sangla for lunch in the local restaurants and later the rest of the day is free to relax in the mountain landscape or if you like you can walk to another nearby villages or nature walk. You will be driven to Kalpa village (2-3hrs). Enroute we will stop at Recong Peo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local restaurant where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After lunch we will drive to kalpa (7km), you will check in to your hotel. After some rest you may wish to take a walk to Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and apples. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6000m) can be had from here. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. Overnight stay at hotel in Kalpa.

Night-2

Day-3 Kalpa - Tabo Monestary - Pin Valley - Mudh - Kaza

After breakfast at the hotel drive towards Kaza We start the day with a visit to the 1021 year old Tabo Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk around this sacred site and gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism. Unlike other monasteries in Spiti Valley, the Tabo monastery is located at the bottom of the valley. From Tabo, we drive to the spectacular Pin Valley. Imagine a national park with an abundance of animals and birds, with some rare plant varieties and a river that is frozen. Pin Valley promises all this. We first visit the Kungri Monastery and then the beautiful hamlet of Mudh the last motorable village of the Pin Valley. Declared a national park in 1987, Pin Valley has altitudes ranging from 11000-20000ft and is home to at least 12 endangered snow leopards. In addition, other animals indigenous to the region and park are the Siberian ibex, bharal, weasel, red fox and marten. Birds such as the pika, griffon, golden eagle, bearded vulture, chukor and raven paint the skies a pretty picture. Overnight stay and dinner in Kaza.

Night-3

Day-4 Kaza Local Sightseeing - Ki Monastery - Kimmik - Langza - Kibber - Kaza

We begin the fourth day, with a drive to renowned Ki Monastery. The car will first stop at the base of the monastery hill for the ultimate photo opportunity of this remarkable structure amid white snow. With over 1000 years worth stories to tell, the Ki Monastery situated at a height of 13668ft was founded by a disciple of the famous Atisha, in the 11th century CE. Belonging to the Yellow Hat or Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, this monastery is famous as a prominent center of learning as well as a refuge for Tibetans. Being remotely located atop a hill overlooking endless plains, the Ki Monastery is an obvious choice for those seeking peace and calm. Then we will move farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber. Located at a height of 4205m and 18km from Kaza, this formerly highest permanently inhabited village in this region, is also a popular base camp to embark on adventure and treks to adjoining mountains of high altitude. The expanses of beautiful landscapes and immeasurable beauty of the snowy mountains make the place a haven for nature-lovers and photographers alike. From Kibber you can trek to Chicham Village, located across a sharp and precipitous canyon traversible only by a suspended wire cable basket system known as a Jula. After this the highest village in Asia, Komik, which literally translates to eye of a snow cock, is situated at a height of 4513m. This farming village has a population of 84 people, living in utter isolation, mostly cut-off from the rest of the world during this part of the year. If accessible during this tour, we will make the drive to Komik. Some of the common animals of the region are the Tibetan wolf, blue sheep, red fox, hare, snow cock, Himalayan griffin, rock pigeon etc. Later, we drive to Hikkim where we visit the world's highest post office in the world. If possible, you might even meet the post-master and hear his stories. After sending out a postcard, we drive to Langza. Langza village is situated at an altitude of 4400m and belongs to the Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Langza houses a population of 137 in 33 households. Once you are here, you can walk around the frosty-white village and visit the ancient Lang (Temple) which is estimated to be around 1000 years old. At Langza, walk back to the prehistoric era when Spiti was submerged by the Tethys Sea, as you explore a land very rich with fossils of Marine animals and plants which were here millions of years ago. We drive back to Kaza for the night. Overnight stay and dinner in Kaza.

Night-4

Day-5 Kaza - Narkanda

Today morning after breakfast drive back towards Narkanda and marks the beginning of the end of this expedition. We make our way south towards Kinnaur Valley. Along this journey, you can get to capturing some scenic visions that you might have missed out on your camera. After a scenic and memorable drive, we will reach to Narkanda. Overnight stay at Narkanda.

Night-5

Come back at hotel and after dinner Overnight stay at hotel in Kalpa.

Day-6 Narkanda Hatu Peak Trek Shimla

Today Morning Start Trek for Hatu peak The Hatu. It is a day hike, but packs in everything that you get in a full-fledged Himalayan trek dark pine forests, superb mountain views, enchanting meadows and the thrill of walking on snow, provided you time it right. In evening back to Narkanda and then drive towards Shimla.

After dinner Overnight stay at Shimla.

Day-7 Shimla-Delhi

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Delhi. Arrive at Delhi and you are drop at Railway Station/Airport. Here your tour ends but the sweet memories will remains same.
